There’s exciting news for premium sedan enthusiasts in the Indian automobile market. The country’s most reliable and timeless sedan, the Honda City Facelift, is set to officially launch on May 22, 2026, with a new look and high-tech features. Faced with increasing competition in the mid-size sedan segment, Japanese car manufacturer Honda is preparing to make this iconic car more comfortable, safe, and modern than ever before.
Ventilated Front Seats

The current Honda City’s biggest shortcoming is its ventilated front seats. Although the company previously offered a seat ventilation kit as an accessory, it wasn’t very effective. Considering India’s hot and humid climate, the upcoming facelift model will feature factory-fitted ventilated front seats. This advanced feature will keep the driver and passenger’s backs completely sweat-free and comfortable during long-distance journeys and heavy city traffic.
360-Degree Camera
Given today’s busy roads and narrow parking spaces, a 360-degree surround-view camera has become a crucial safety feature. Vehicles like the Hyundai Verna already offer this technology, so Honda is now adding this advanced surround-view camera system to its car with this facelift. This will allow the driver to see a clear view of all four corners of the car on the touchscreen while sitting inside the car, eliminating the risk of scratches.
New Instrument Cluster and Infotainment System
The car’s infotainment system is being completely redesigned to give the dashboard a completely new and futuristic look. The new City facelift is expected to feature a highly advanced and large floating touchscreen infotainment system, modeled after Honda’s popular SUV, the Elevate. Its graphics will be sharper and smoother than ever before. The digital instrument cluster in front of the driver will also be updated, featuring new display modes and clearer visualization of key information.
Improved Connected Features

To make smartphone connectivity more practical, Honda will replace the old removable wireless charging pad with a factory-fitted wireless charger built into the car’s interior. Furthermore, the Honda Connected Car Technology package will be upgraded, allowing you to use several innovative features, such as remotely turning on the car’s AC system using your smartphone or smartwatch.
Fresher Cabin and Seats: Luxurious Interior and a Luxurious Feel
The Honda City has always been known for offering the most premium cabin space and sofa-like comfort in its segment. Continuing this tradition, the new facelift will feature a refreshed cabin look with new luxurious leatherette upholstery, new seat cuts, and premium soft-touch dashboard materials. These minor cosmetic changes will give you a very VIP and modern feeling as soon as you get inside the car.
Honda ZR-V Hybrid
This mega event from Honda isn’t limited to sedans. Along with the Honda City facelift, the company will also launch an all-new premium SUV in the Indian market on May 22, 2026, which is likely to be the Honda ZR-V Hybrid. According to reports, this SUV will be imported to India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), meaning a completely foreign-built vehicle.
At the heart of this new SUV will be Honda’s powerful 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will work in tandem with the company’s renowned ‘Strong Hybrid’ technology (e: HEV). This powerful combination will provide drivers with an unmatched balance of rapid acceleration without range anxiety and even more fuel efficiency than diesel. The best part is that, along with the standard petrol variants of the Honda City, its hybrid model (City e: HEV) will also get all the same amazing facelift updates.
