Engine & Performance
All three motorcycles come with single-cylinder engines, but the difference is seen in their performance character. Both the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V and Apache RTR 160 4V have 4-valve head, while the Pulsar N160 still runs on simple 2-valve setup. This is the reason that despite having more displacement, Pulsar removes less power.
Apache RTR turns out to be a real performer of this segment. Despite the smallest engine, it gets the highest 17.5 hp power and 14.7 Nm torque. The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is also not far behind.

Weight & Dimensions
Apache RTR 160 4V also wins here because its weight is just 146 kg. Xtreme weighs just 1.5 kg more than Apache, so it also feels quite balanced. Pulsar is the heaviest bike and its large 14-litre fuel tank plays the main roule in increasing its weight.
Talking about ground clearance, Apache is ahead again. Due to its 180 mm clearance, tension is low on high speed breakers and poor roads. Seat height is almost same in all three, allowing riders of every height to run them easily.
Suspension, Brakes & Tyres
Let me tell you that Xtreme 160R also offers USD forks in 4V base variant, while in Pulsar and Apache these luxury are found only in top variants. The braking setup is also found differently in Apache’s lower variants, where some trims also have drum brake.
Rear tyre size is slightly slim in Apache’s low variants, while all bikes in top variants come with 130-section rear tyre. Pulsar’s larger 300mm front disc in Braking gives good confidence, while Xtreme and Apache come with slightly smaller discs.

Features
Talking about features, it becomes even more interesting. The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is the only motorcycle in this entire comparison with cruise control. Ride-by-wire throttle, LED headlamp, color LCD display and three riding modes make it quite advanced.
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, although not cruise control, seems to be the most loaded in terms of features. Its top model combines 5-inch TFT screens, traction control, slip & assist clutch, GTT-like technology and adjustable levers. projector LED headlamp further increases its premium appeal.
The Pulsar N160 is complex simple, but three ABS modes make it special. USD forks are only available in top model, making it the most affordable USD fork bike of all three.
Price
Price range makes this bout more interesting. The TVS Apache RTR 160 is the most wide pricing 4V. Some of its variants are the cheapest and top variant is included in the most expensive bikes of this segment. Hero Xtreme 160R 4V and Apache top variants have a difference of only about ₹2,000.

The Bajaj Pulsar N160 is affordable to about ₹10,000, but instead shows a slight decrease in both performance and features. But it is still a good choice for budget-conscious riders.
