Design
Usually, bikes are only seen in showrooms after their launch, but Hero MotoCorp has adopted a different strategy this time. Units of the 2026 Hero Xtreme 125R have arrived at dealerships even before the launch, giving buyers a chance to see its real form. A video shows the bike in an attractive green shade. In terms of design, the bike looks similar to the existing model, but it has been refreshed with new colors like green and red. The graphics have also been updated, making it look more attractive and sporty than before.

Features
This is where the real fun begins! The biggest update in the 2026 Xtreme 125R is the introduction of electronic throttle control. It is this electronic throttle that has made it possible to include the cruise control feature in this bike. With its help, you can lock the bike’s speed during long highway rides, giving your hands and body a rest. This feature makes it India’s first sporty 125cc bike to offer cruise control. The toggle switch for this feature is located on the right-hand switchgear.
Additionally, the left-hand switchgear has also been updated to operate the new color LCD screen. This screen is borrowed from bikes like the Xtreme 250R and Glamour and features smart features such as Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Safety
If you’re wondering, “Cruise control and navigation are fine, but what about safety?” Hero MotoCorp has the answer to that concern as well. The most significant and welcome change in the 2026 Xtreme 125R is the addition of dual-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). Now, both wheels in the dual-disc variant will benefit from ABS. This will significantly improve braking performance and provide a safety net for the rider, especially in rainy weather or on slippery roads. This is a feature that every rider will benefit from every day. The TVS Raider 125 was recently updated with dual-channel ABS, and now Hero has responded in kind.

Engine and Other Features
While several changes have been made to the bike’s features, its heart, the engine, remains the same reliable unit. The 2026 Xtreme 125R will retain the same 124.7cc engine that produces approximately 11.4 bhp of peak power and 10.5 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the RSU telescopic front forks, rear mono-shocks, and 10-liter fuel tank will also remain unchanged. Other notable features include LED headlights, LED taillights, and LED turn indicators with a hazard function. Like the Glamour X, it is also expected to feature automatic emergency brake lights and a USB Type-C port. The variant shown in the video also features a sportier split-seat setup.
