Monsoon Alert – The biting cold has completely brought life to a standstill, leaving everyone shivering. The cold is so severe that people are forced to huddle around bonfires to keep warm. Snowfall in the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir is causing cold winds to wreak havoc in the plains.

Dense fog is likely to prevail in Delhi and surrounding areas, potentially causing difficulties for commuters. Cold weather and dense fog are also causing problems in western Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Delhi Weather

Several areas of Delhi have been shrouded in dense fog since morning. According to the IMD, the day in Delhi is likely to begin with dense fog. The cold winds accompanying the fog are expected to cause a drop in temperature. Light sunshine may be seen in the afternoon, but the cold will return in the evening. Further temperature drops are possible.

Weather in UP and Bihar

The cold wave is expected to intensify further in Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has predicted a cold wave in Gorakhpur, Deoria, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bijnor, Sitapur, and Rampur.

Besides these, the cold wave is likely to intensify in Mainpuri, Azamgarh, Raebareli, Amethi, Agra, Mathura, Tundla, Aligarh, and Meerut. Dense fog is likely to prevail in Buxar, Saran, Bhojpur, Purnia, Katihar, and Araria in Bihar. Kishanganj, Khagaria, Begusarai, Samastipur, and Lakhisarai may also be covered in a blanket of fog.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in These States

The IMD has issued a warning of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. Heavy rainfall is also predicted in Kerala. Wind speeds could reach 45 to 50 kilometres per hour.

Thunderstorms and rain are expected in Puducherry, with winds likely to reach 45 to 50 kilometres per hour. Heavy rain and cold waves are also predicted in several parts of Karnataka, with wind speeds expected to exceed 45 to 50 kilometres per hour.
