The wait is over now. Team India squad for the upcoming T20I series against South Afriva revealed on Wednesday with Shubman Gill as the vice captain of the team along with captain Suryakumar Yadav.

India squad for T20I series vs South Africa

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced the Indian squad for the T20I series against South Africa. Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill return to the Indian T20I squad, led by Suryakumar Yadav. Gill was injured during the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata. Due to this, he could not play in the second Test in Guwahati and the ongoing ODI series. However, Gill’s availability will be confirmed after receiving final clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence. Hardik Pandya is making a comeback after a two-month injury layoff.

The five-match T20 series between India and South Africa begins in Cuttack on December 9th. The selection committee met on Wednesday to select the squad for the series. Suryakumar Yadav is India’s regular T20 captain. Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, and young fast bowler Harshit Rana have also been included in the squad.

The first match of the five-match T20 series between India and South Africa will be played in Cuttack, followed by matches on December 11 (New Chandigarh), December 14 (Dharamsala), December 17 (Lucknow) and December 19 (Ahmedabad).
