Ahead of this, Delhi Capitals star player Faf du Plessis has announced that he will not be included in the auction list. This makes it clear that he will not play in the next season of the IPL. He has also stated that he will be available to play in the Pakistan Super League.

Faf du Plessis took a big decision after playing 14 IPL seasons

Faf du Plessis was released by the Delhi Capitals this season and was scheduled to enter the auction. He has now issued a statement stating, “After 14 seasons in the IPL, I have decided not to enter my name in the auction this year. This is a big decision, and looking back, I feel immense gratitude. This league has been a crucial part of my journey.”

Faf du Plessis said, “I’ve had the opportunity to play in front of fans whose passion is unmatched. India has given me friendships, lessons, and memories that have shaped me as a cricketer and a person.” He also thanked his coaches, teammates, and support staff. He said, “India holds a special place in my heart, and this is definitely not goodbye. You’ll see me again.” This year, I’ve decided to take on a new challenge and will play in the upcoming PSL season. This is an exciting step for me.

Scored more than 4000 runs in IPL

Faf du Plessis made his IPL debut in 2012 for the Chennai Super Kings and has been associated with the league ever since. During his 14-year career, he played for Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants, RCB, and Delhi Capitals. During this period, he scored a total of 4,773 runs, including 39 centuries. He also won the IPL title twice (2018 and 2021) with Chennai.
