PM Ujjwala Scheme
The government launched this scheme on 1 May 2016. It gives LPG cylinders to poor women. Till now, 8.3 crore families have received LPG under this scheme.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
The Prime Minister started this scheme on 22 January 2015 in Haryana. The scheme aims to stop the fall in the girl child ratio and empower girls and women.
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
The government launched this scheme on 10 October 2019. It provides free health services to pregnant women and newborn babies. The aim is to reduce deaths of mothers and newborns.
Free Sewing Machine Scheme
The Central Government runs this scheme for women interested in sewing and embroidery. Poor women from rural and urban areas can apply. Women aged 20 to 40 years can get a free sewing machine under this scheme.
Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme
The Ministry of Women and Child Development launched this scheme in 2017. It works to empower women in every village and helps them grow through social participation. The scheme operates at the national, state and district levels.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana
The Modi government launched this scheme on 22 January 2015. It helps parents save money for the education and marriage of girls below 10 years. You can open an account at any bank or post office. After the scheme ends, the girl receives the full amount in her name.
