PM Vishwakarma Scheme: The central government operates several schemes for the benefit of the people. Among these is the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. It provides financial assistance and training to traditional artisans and those involved in handicrafts, along with the provision of new equipment. It should be noted that not everyone benefits from this government scheme. Those involved in traditional occupations, such as goldsmiths, masons, ironsmiths, pottery makers, barbers, shoemakers, and others, are excluded.

These people are not eligible

Anyone not traditionally associated with this profession cannot avail of this scheme. Furthermore, those in government jobs or government departments are not eligible.

Who benefits?

This government scheme is designed for those who want to start their own business and earn primarily through their skills. Those already benefiting from other central or state government skill development schemes are not eligible for the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

Training is provided to individuals

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme provides training to individuals. A daily stipend of ₹500 is also provided. After completing the training, ₹15,000 is provided to purchase a tool kit and other essential items.

Facilities Available

Under this scheme, eligible individuals are provided with a loan. Initially, a loan of ₹1 lakh is provided for 18 months. After repaying this loan, a second loan of ₹2 lakh is available for 30 months.
