India and Pakistan will face each other on February 15th at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo in the T20 World Cup 2026. This encounter will be special as it will be the first time the two teams will meet in a T20I after three thrilling matches in the 2025 Asia Cup. This match will be India’s third group match. According to a report, India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group as the USA, Netherlands, and Namibia.

India and Sri Lanka will jointly host the T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament will run from February 7th to March 8th, and the format will remain the same as the 2024 World Cup, with a total of 20 teams participating. The tournament will consist of five groups, each consisting of four teams, and two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8. The Super 8 will then be regrouped. The top four teams will then qualify for the semi-finals, followed by the final.

All of Pakistan’s matches are planned to be held in Colombo or Kandy. Regarding India’s potential Super 8 and knockout matches, if India makes it past the group stage, its three Super 8 matches are expected to be held in Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Kolkata. Mumbai is the likely venue for India’s semifinal.

The second semi-final has been shortlisted by the ICC for Colombo or Kolkata, depending on whether Sri Lanka or Pakistan progress from the Super-8s and the final is scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad, but if Pakistan makes it to the final, the match may be shifted to Colombo.
