To link mobile number online, you need to follow some simple steps by logging in to the specific portal of the Food Department of the Government of West Bengal.
1. Log in to the official website:
First of all, log in to the official website of the Food Department of the Government of West Bengal food.wb.gov.in from your mobile or computer browser. This is the main portal for all ration related services.
2. Select e-Ration Card option:
After opening the webpage, if you scroll down, you will see an option written ‘E-Ration Card’. Click on this option to go to the next step.
3. Navigation to the download page:
After clicking, a new window or tab will open. There you will find a link or button called ‘Click here to download e-Ration Card’. The process of linking mobile number can basically be started from this page.
4. Search by card information:
Now enter your ration card number accurately in the specified box. Fill the captcha code given next to it correctly and click on the ‘Search’ button.
5. Status Check and OTP Verification:
After searching, if there is no phone number linked to your card, then the system will show that there is no mobile number tagged with the family. At this stage, take the following steps:
- The list of your family members and their Aadhaar link status will be displayed on the screen.
- Select any member whose Aadhaar is linked to his ration card.
- Click on the ‘Send OTP’ option next to his name.
- As a result, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered with that member’s Aadhaar.
- Verify the received OTP in the specified field and proceed to the next step.
6. Adding a new mobile number:
If the Aadhaar verification is successful, on the next page you will be asked to link a mobile number to download the e-ration card. Here, enter the phone number that you want to use for the ration card. Remember, this number does not have to be an Aadhaar linked number; you can provide any of your current active numbers. Enter the number and click on ‘Send OTP’.
7. Final Submission:
A 4-digit OTP will be sent to the new mobile number you provided. Paste that OTP in the specified space on the portal and click on the ‘Verify and Submit’ button.

As soon as you submit, you will see that the phone number you provided has been updated next to the name of that particular member.
