Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who took a total of 7 wickets in England’s first innings, started the bowling in the second innings in a very impressive manner. Australia’s first innings was reduced to 132 runs as play began on the second day of the Perth Test. England were hoping for a better start from their opening pair in the second innings, but Mitchell Starc dealt them a major blow in the form of Zak Crawley in his very first over. Starc bowled the fifth ball of his first over of the second innings, slightly outside off-stump, and Crawley attempted a straight shot. The ball bounced back in the air, prompting Starc to react quickly, diving to his left and catching it with one hand. Crawley’s face was clearly surprised when Starc took the catch, leaving the rest of the Australian players on the field completely stunned.

Mitchell Starc has been quite impressive in Test cricket so far, in which he is one of the most dangerous left-arm fast bowlers at present. Starc has now succeeded in leaving behind former Sri Lankan player Chaminda Vaas in terms of dismissing batsmen for ducks the most number of times as a left-arm fast bowler in Test cricket. Vaas had dismissed batsmen for ducks 68 times in Tests, while Mitchell Starc has achieved this feat 69 times so far. The name of former Pakistani player Wasim Akram is at the top of this list, who has done this feat 79 times.
