Are you among those adventure bike enthusiasts who consider the KTM 390 Adventure their dream bike? If so, there’s some bad news for you. New Prices
Looking at the new prices of the KTM 390 Adventure range, the standard KTM 390 Adventure has received a direct price increase of ₹27,000. Its ex-showroom price now stands at ₹3.95 lakh. On the other hand, the more affordable variant, the KTM 390 Adventure X, has become costlier by ₹22,410 and is now priced at ₹3.26 lakh (ex-showroom). The price hike brings the 390 Adventure X closer to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, a price gap that had widened significantly after GST 2.0. The standard 390 Adventure’s on-road price can now reach around ₹5 lakh in some states, which is quite expensive for the sub-400cc segment, regardless of its advanced features.
Rasone
Recall that the new GST regime increased taxation by 40% on two-wheelers above 350cc, significantly increasing the prices of both cars and motorcycles. However, KTM absorbed this tax increase on its 390 range of bikes until the festive season and maintained the same prices. This directly benefited them, with sales figures increasing significantly during the festive season. But now, just as the festival season is over, the company has passed on this increased tax to customers. This appears to be part of the company’s marketing strategy.
Value for Money
The question now arises: which variant will be the better choice for customers after such a price increase? The KTM 390 Adventure X still offers a strong value-for-money proposition, as it comes equipped with the basic equipment most customers need. The standard 390 Adventure, with its 19/17-inch tubeless spoke wheel setup and adjustable suspension, will remain the preferred choice for hardcore off-road enthusiasts. However, customers will now find it difficult to decide whether to pay such a high price for the KTM or opt for alternatives like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

Features and Performance
Despite the price increase, the powertrain, hardware, and features of the KTM 390 Adventure and 390 Adventure X remain unchanged. These adventure motorcycles are still powered by the same 398.63cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled LC4C engine, which produces 45.3 bhp and 39 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch, as well as a bi-directional quickshifter. Both adventure motorcycles feature a 5-inch color TFT display, ride modes, ride-by-wire, traction control, cruise control, cornering ABS, smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, a full LED lighting setup, and a USB charging port.
