The International Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in several districts of the state.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an essential forecast for Tuesday. An alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in several districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, today. These districts may experience strong winds along with the downpour. Consequently, local authorities have been advised to remain vigilant. Cloudy skies will persist over Hyderabad and several areas of Telangana today. Rainfall is unlikely, but the clouds may cause a slight drop in temperatures.
The effects of winter are rapidly increasing in Maharashtra. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert in Pune. On Sunday, Pune recorded a minimum temperature of 10.6 degrees Celsius, marking the season’s coldest morning. The International Monetary Fund predicts that temperatures will drop even further in many parts of Maharashtra over the next 48 hours.
Delhi Weather Update
Cold weather has also reached the national capital, Delhi. The minimum temperature is expected to range from 9 to 11 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to range from 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rains Alert
The India Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rains in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, and Theni in southern Tamil Nadu. This entire region has been experiencing continuous rainfall for the past two days, and the weather is expected to worsen in the next 24 hours.
Rain in Chennai
Due to continued moisture inflow from the Bay of Bengal, a moderate rain alert has been issued in Chennai today. The weather may worsen in coastal areas. The IMD has warned of strong winds of up to 55 km/h in the Gulf of Mannar, Kumari Sagar, and southern coastal Tamil Nadu.
Rain Warning in These States
According to the Meteorological Department, intermittent heavy rain is likely in Mahe, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Lakshadweep, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during November 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22. Intermittent rain is also continuing in Andhra Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has warned that the weather in the state will change again. Consequently, an alert has been issued for intermittent heavy rain in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh during November 18-22.
