New Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme: A major initiative has been launched to alleviate the financial hardships of farmers. Frequent natural disasters such as floods, rains, and droughts have caused significant damage to the state’s farmers’ crops. Consequently, many farmers were unable to profit from their crops and repay loans taken from banks or government institutions. In response to this situation, the state government has implemented a loan waiver scheme to provide relief to economically vulnerable farmers.

What is the objective of the scheme?

This government scheme aims to provide relief to farmers whose crops were destroyed due to natural disasters and who are burdened with debt. The government claims that this initiative has helped small and marginal farmers become self-reliant in farming again.
