112-Kilometer Green Field Elevated Highway
This highway, extending from Kanpur to Hamirpur via Naubasta, Mahoba, and Ghatampur, will be developed as a completely greenfield project. It will be constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The Naubasta-Hamirpur road experiences heavy traffic, including trucks carrying sand, gravel, and other construction materials. The construction of this highway will ease traffic congestion on this route and improve transportation efficiency.
Benefits for Mahoba, Ghatampur, and Hamirpur
The project includes the construction of ramps for entry and exit in the Mahoba, Ghatampur, and Hamirpur districts. This will benefit the residents of these districts as well as those living in the surrounding areas. After the completion of the highway, the economic and industrial development of the Bundelkhand region will accelerate. The design and proposal for this greenfield highway have already been submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and it was approved by the central government in 2021.
