According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a heavy rain alert has been issued for several states in the next 24 hours. The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. In addition, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms has been predicted in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Rainfall is also expected in several areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The IMD has forecast rain in several areas of Tripura, Mizoram, and Manipur. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in several districts of Tamil Nadu. According to the IMD, heavy rain accompanied by lightning is likely in Tiruchirappalli, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, and Tiruvannamalai. In addition, Dharmapuri, Salem, Kallakurichi, Perambalur, and Ariyalur are likely to experience rain.
