The 1985 RX100

Launched in November 1985, the Yamaha RX100 revolutionized the Indian two-wheeler segment. It featured a 98cc, air-cooled, two-stroke engine that produced 11.2 horsepower and 10.39 Nm of torque. This bike could accelerate from 0 to 60 kilometers per hour in just 7.5 seconds. With a top speed of 110 kilometers per hour, it became a favorite among young people. Its light weight and smooth handling made it popular from city streets to racing tracks.

New RX100 2025

Now in 2025, the Yamaha RX100 is set to be relaunched with modern features while retaining its classic design. The company has retained the old 98cc engine format, but the engine has been made single-cylinder and more efficient. The new RX100 produces 10.85 PS of power and 10.39 Nm of torque. Despite this, the bike’s weight has been kept at 103 kilograms to maintain both its speed and balance.

Now it will get a mileage of 80 kmpl

The biggest feature of the new Yamaha RX100 is its excellent mileage. While the old model offered a mileage of 35 to 45 km/liter, this new bike now boasts a mileage of around 80 km/liter. This improvement not only makes it more economical but also compliant with environmental standards. Yamaha has used new fuel-injection technology in the engine, improving both its efficiency and smoothness.

Design and Features

The RX100 2025’s design is reminiscent of the old bike, but its features are completely modern. It features tubeless tires, an improved suspension system, and an updated braking system. The company has retained the drum brakes to maintain its retro feel. It also features new LED indicators and a digital-analog meter combination.
