Bihar Election First Phase Voting: Voting for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections has concluded. In the first phase, 60.25 per cent of voters cast their votes for their preferred candidates in EVMs across 121 constituencies. Political tensions regarding the election remained high throughout the day. Sporadic tensions were witnessed at some polling stations. Deputy CM Vijay Sinha’s convoy was pelted with stones in Lakhisarai.
A heated exchange also broke out between RJD MLA and Vijay Sinha. From early morning, women, young people, and the elderly were enthusiastic about voting. As the day progressed, long queues of voters grew at polling stations.
In the first phase, the constituencies of Tejashwi Yadav from Raghopur, Samrat Chaudhary from Tarapur, and Anant Singh from Mokama remained a topic of discussion. Throughout the day, vehicles of election observers, police officers, and election officials were seen moving around. Upon receiving complaints, administrative officials immediately resolved problems.
Women showed enthusiasm.
People started arriving at polling stations in Bihar’s first phase early in the morning. Women were more enthusiastic about voting than men. Long queues at polling stations were also seen waiting for hours to cast their votes. Young and elderly people also participated enthusiastically. At some polling stations, altercations broke out between polling booth agents, but deployed officials helped to calm the situation.
Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Sinha arrived at a polling station in Lakhisarai, where an altercation broke out with an RJD MLA. The two leaders exchanged verbal attacks. Security personnel intervened to calm the situation. The Deputy CM’s convoy was pelted with stones, prompting police to disperse the crowd. The Deputy CM blamed RJD workers for the stone-pelting.
When will the second phase of elections be held in Bihar?
The second phase of elections in Bihar is now scheduled for November 11th. There are a total of 243 assembly seats in the state. Voting took place on 121 seats in the first phase on Thursday. Voting will take place on 122 seats in the second phase. Results for all assembly seats will be declared on November 14th. This election is considered to be a contest between the Grand Alliance and the NDA. Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav could prove to be the biggest factors in the election.
