David reached 1000 runs in 569 balls. Currently, India’s current T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav is second on this list with 573 balls. New Zealand’s Finn Allen is third with 611 balls.

Currently, this record is held by Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli played 29 matches to reach 1,000 T20I runs for India. Abhishek Sharma has the opportunity to reach the 1,000-run mark in his 28th T20I match today. By doing so, he will break Virat Kohli’s record. Former England batsman Dawid Malan and Czech Republic batsman Sabawoon Davies hold the world record for the fastest 1,000 runs in T20 International cricket, in terms of matches. Both batsmen achieved this feat in 24 T20I matches each.
