Bank Holiday Alert: Banks to Remain Closed for 4 Days This Week — Check Now

Bank Holiday: The month of November has started. Several days this month will see banks closed, which might lead to some inconvenience for customers. If you have any banking tasks to complete this week, be sure to check the bank holiday schedule first. This week, banks will be closed for four days. These closures include a combination of national holidays, weekly holidays, and regional celebrations.

On which days will the banks be closed?

November 5 (Wednesday) – In Bhopal, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Itanagar, Kanpur, New Delhi, Nagpur, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, and Srinagar, banks will be closed for festivals such as Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartik Purnima, and Rahas Purnima.

November 6 (Thursday) – Due to the first phase of voting for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, banks will be closed in Patna on this day. Additionally, banks in Shillong will also be closed because of the Nogkrem dance.

November 7 (Friday) – In Shillong, banks will be closed for the Wangala festival. On this day, tribal communities perform sacrifices to honor their deity, Saljong, or the Sun God.

November 8 (Saturday) – Banks in Bengaluru will be closed in observance of Kanakadasa Jayanti, which celebrates the birth anniversary of the poet and social reformer Sri Kanakadasa.

While bank branches will be closed on these days, digital and automated services will remain fully operational, allowing customers to carry out their financial transactions with ease. ATMs will be available for withdrawals, and you can transfer money using UPI.

The RBI issues the holiday list under the Instruments of Service Act. The Reserve Bank of India, along with state governments, compiles the list of bank holidays, which is then announced by the central bank on its official website.
