Tata Motors has officially announced the return of its iconic SUV, the Sierra. After a long wait, the SUV will be launched in India on November 25, 2025. Returning after nearly two decades, this car will not only boast a modern look and high-tech features but will also present a strong claim in its segment in terms of safety and performance. Incorporating Tata’s new design philosophy and premium interiors, it has been adapted to future needs.

Engine and Variant Information
The new Tata Sierra will be offered with two powertrain options. Initially, it will be launched in ICE (petrol and diesel) versions. The petrol model will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine, producing approximately 170 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. The diesel unit is expected to produce approximately 118 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. Following this, an electric version, the Sierra EV, will also be launched, based on Tata’s new-generation electric technology.
Safety and Technology Features
This SUV is also set to be a step forward in terms of safety. It is being equipped with Level-2 ADAS technology, which will enhance both driving safety and convenience. Features like a 360-degree camera system, seven airbags, ABS-EBD, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts will be available. A suite of advanced driving assist features will make it even more competitive in its segment.
Exterior Design
The Sierra’s exterior design is inspired by its iconic 90s model, but modernity and premium touches have been appropriately added. Sleek LED DRLs, flush-fit door handles, attractive multi-spoke alloy wheels, and a gloss black rear design give it a modern appeal. The Sierra’s signature Alpine window style has also been retained in the new avatar, maintaining its classic DNA.
Interior and Premium Features
The Tata Sierra 2025’s cabin features a completely futuristic design. It will be Tata’s first SUV to feature a triple-screen setup. High-end features include yellow accents on the dashboard, a new 4-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging pad, a JBL premium sound system, and ventilated seats. The car’s interior is designed to provide an immersive and high-tech driving experience.

Pricing and Market Competition
The Tata Sierra is expected to have a starting ex-showroom price of around ₹14 lakh. Upon launch, it will directly compete with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and MG Astor. With its design, features, and safety features, it could bring about a major change in the SUV segment.
