Aadhaar Card Rules– Big news for Aadhaar Card holders. Aadhaar card is now required for almost every important task in the country. From admission to school or college to availing benefits of any government scheme, it is needed. It has become the most important document as proof of identity and address.

Sometimes, information stored in Aadhaar, such as name, address, mobile number, or biometric details, may need to be changed. Consequently, UIDAI is revising the update rules effective November 1, 2025. Those updating their Aadhaar will now be charged according to the new rates. Let us explain how much each update will cost.

Higher fees will have to be paid from November 1

According to the new UIDAI rules, starting November 1st, updating your name, address, or mobile number on your Aadhaar card will cost Rs 75. For fingerprints, iris, or photo updates, the charge will be Rs 125. Biometric updates will be completely free for children between 5 and 7 years of age and 15 to 17 years of age. Online document updates are currently free until June 14, 2026.

However, after that, you’ll have to pay Rs 75 for this service at the center. Rs 40 for reprinting your Aadhaar card, and Rs 700 for the first person for home enrollment services. Rs 350 for each additional person at the same address. Therefore, if you need to make any changes, it’s best to complete them online in advance.

UIDAI has issued a notice to every PAN card holder to link their PAN with Aadhaar by December 31, 2025. If you fail to do so by the deadline, your PAN will become inactive from January 1, 2026. This will prevent you from filing income tax returns or using your PAN card for any financial transactions.

The government has taken this step to prevent fraud and tax evasion. Therefore, those who have not yet linked their Aadhaar and PAN should complete the process as soon as possible. You can easily do this by visiting the websites www.incometax.gov.in or uidai.gov.in.
