New Delhi: With the arrival of Diwali, people working in distant places and other jobs head back home. This leads to congestion in trains. Sometimes, people are unable to find seats in the sleeper or general class. People who went home to celebrate Diwali are now returning to their work, and the rush on trains is expected to ease for the next few days.
Therefore, Indian Railways has decided to run special trains until December. This means that 48 special trains will run from various cities across the country until December. The Railway Board has taken this decision keeping in mind the convenience of passengers. Special trains have been running since September.
In addition, special facilities have been provided for passengers at major stations like Katihar, New Jalpaiguri, Guwahati, Jogbani, and Kishanganj. Additional ticket counters, fans, holding arrears, and automatic ticket vending machines have all been included.
