Under this new government system, low-risk applicants will receive automated approval. Businesses with monthly tax liabilities of less than ₹2.5 lakh will receive registration approval within three days. It is estimated that approximately 96% of new applicants will be able to take advantage of this facility.

This government change will especially benefit small businesses. It will not only speed up the registration process but also reduce pressure on the GST network. According to experts, this reform will help the tax department better identify those who should be classified as high-risk. This will significantly reduce the burden on taxpayers. The government’s new GST model will rely on two slabs: 5% and 18%. A 40% tax rate has been imposed on luxury and sin goods. The government is also working towards automated refunds, simplified return filing, and risk-based audits.

At the inauguration of the new CGST building in Ghaziabad, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the primary objective of these reforms is to make the GST system more transparent, benefiting honest taxpayers and punishing taxpayers who commit fraud.
