GST Registration Process 2025: The central government is preparing to launch a new GST registration system from November 1, 2025. Its purpose is to simplify the registration process for small businesses and public sector companies. Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced this. This new system aims to eliminate the manual registration process for small businesses whose monthly output tax liability is less than ₹2.5 lakh. They will receive automatic registration approval within working days. This is expected to reduce delays and ease the compliance burden.

According to media reports, the new registration system will allow first-time applicants to receive approval within just three working days. The GST Council approved this system as part of the government’s GST reforms. This will simplify the registration process and reduce manual intervention. This will reduce the time required for the registration process.

The Finance Minister announced that a simplified GST registration process will begin on November 1st. Automatic registration will be granted within three working days for two categories of applicants: one type will be those identified by the system based on data analysis, and the other will be those who will self-assess and whose output tax liability does not exceed ₹250,000 per month.

This reform is expected to benefit 96% of new applicants. After inaugurating the new CGST building in Ghaziabad, the Finance Minister stated that the government’s focus is now shifting from policy formulation to effective implementation at the local level.
