Next-gen Bajaj Chetak First Look: Bajaj Auto, which has rapidly established itself in the Indian electric two-wheeler market, is now preparing for a new chapter. Following the tremendous success of the Chetak 30 and 35 series, the company is now set to launch its next-generation scooter, the Next-Gen Bajaj Chetak. Recent spy shots have surfaced, providing a glimpse of its design and technical updates. It is believed that this model could hit Indian roads in 2026.

Design and Look More Premium

Spy images reveal that the new Chetak will retain the spirit of its predecessor while sporting a more modern look. The rear now features a single LED taillight, which incorporates both the brake light and indicators. A new number plate holder and rear tire hugger have also been added, giving the scooter a sportier look.
The charging port is now hidden behind the front apron or a flap, giving it a cleaner design. The seat is now flatter, which should improve riding comfort. The headlight and DRLs are similar to the current model, but the traditional ‘Chetak’ logo is replaced by a new lettering style.
New Technology Spotted in Mid-Level Variant
According to spy shots, this model is likely a mid-level variant of the Chetak, possibly launched as the Chetak 3502 or 3002. It features a front disc brake, but lacks some premium features like keyless go and a TFT display. These are replaced by a new LCD instrument cluster, which maintains functionality while remaining simple.
The suspension setup has also been revised. The single-sided suspension of the older model has been replaced by telescopic front forks, which will improve handling and stability. Additionally, this variant features a hub motor, a first for any existing Chetak model.
Major Improvements in Powertrain and Range
The new-generation Bajaj Chetak scooter will be more powerful and efficient. It is estimated to feature a 3 kWh to 3.5 kWh battery pack. With this setup, the scooter will be capable of delivering a range of approximately 150 kilometers on a single charge. If these figures prove accurate, the new Chetak will pose a tough challenge to rivals like the Ola S1 Air and Ather Rizta.
