According to the IMD, the cold wave is expected to increase in the morning and evening in the next two days, i.e. after Diwali. A period of fog is likely to begin in villages and towns.
People are likely to have to resort to warm clothing and bonfires to protect themselves from the blanket of fog and the cold. Haze is expected to prevail in cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Prayagraj. Temperatures will also begin to drop in Bihar, bringing relief from the scorching heat. Rain alert in several states
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in several states in South India. Additionally, an alert for cloudy weather and heavy rain has been issued in Andhra Pradesh, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
