Ahead of Diwali 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, makes a big announcement that makes lakhs of employees extremely happy. The announcement is more special for the non-gazetted employees of the state.

Each employee will receive Rs 6,908

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a bonus for the financial year 2024-25 for the state’s 14.82 lakh non-gazetted state employees. Employees will receive this bonus, equivalent to 30 days’ emoluments, based on a maximum monthly emoluments limit of Rs 7,000. Each employee will receive Rs 6,908 as bonus. Following the Chief Minister’s announcement on Tuesday, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, Deepak Kumar, issued a government order regarding bonus payments.

The bonus will cover those full-time non-gazetted employees whose posts are in the pay matrix level-8 (Rs 47,600- 1,51,100) and have a grade pay of up to Rs 4,800. The bonus will be available to full-time non-gazetted state employees, in-charge and daily wage employees of government departments, employees of educational and technical educational institutions aided by state funds, local bodies and district panchayats. 75 percent of the bonus will be deposited into the employee’s provident fund account. The remaining 25 percent will be paid in cash. For employees who do not have a provident fund account, 75 percent will be given as an NSC or deposited into their PPF account.

Employees who retired after March 31, 2025, or are due to retire by April 30, 2026, will receive the full bonus amount in cash. Employees who face departmental disciplinary action or criminal charges in 2024-25 will not receive the bonus. The bonus will cost the government treasury ₹1,022.75 crore. According to Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, 1,482,187 employees will receive the bonus. These include 880,187 non-gazetted state employees and those in charge, 500,000 teachers and 100,000 non-teaching staff from aided educational institutions, and 2,000 daily wage earners.
