Monsoon Update: The monsoon has retreated from most states, but alerts have still been issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms in some states. The Meteorological Department has issued a high alert for heavy rainfall in Kerala and Tamil Nadu over the next seven days. According to the Meteorological Department, easterly and north-easterly winds are likely to blow in the central Bay of Bengal and southern peninsular India.

The Meteorological Department predicts that strong winds accompanied by lightning may occur in southern Odisha on October 15 and 16. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely in Madhya Pradesh on October 16. Furthermore, thunderstorms are expected in the Konkan and Goa region from October 15 to 17, and in Marathwada on October 15 and 16.

The Meteorological Department has warned fishermen to avoid venturing into the Lakshadweep, Maldives, and Kavaratti areas in the Arabian Sea between October 15 and 20. Meanwhile, it is advised not to travel near the Karnataka coast from October 17 to 20.

Heavy Rain Warning for Four Days
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain, strong winds, and lightning in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. According to the Meteorological Department,
Heavy rain is likely in Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, and Tenkasi districts during the next 24 to 48 hours. Partly cloudy skies are expected in and around Chennai. Light to moderate rain, along with thunderstorms and lightning, is expected in some areas.

Western India Storm Possibility
According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and lightning are likely in Central Maharashtra from October 15 to 17 and in Marathwada from October 16. The Meteorological Department has also predicted similar weather conditions in the Konkan and Goa region from October 15 to 17.

Regarding the weather in South India, a warning has been issued for heavy rainfall in Kerala and Mahe from October 15 to 21. In addition, light to moderate rain is expected at isolated places in coastal and south interior Karnataka on October 15-16. The Meteorological Department predicts lightning in Vidarbha from October 15 to 16, and thunderstorms and strong winds in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on October 16 to 17.
