Maruti Dzire Leaves Creta and Scorpio Behind, Creates a Stir After Gst Cut

In September 2025, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire set a sales record. The company sold 20,038 units this month, compared to just 10,853 units in the same month last year. This represents an 85% year-on-year growth. With this impressive performance, the Dzire has surpassed popular cars like the Hyundai Creta and Mahindra Scorpio.

Interior and Features

The Maruti Dzire’s interior features a dual-tone black-beige theme. The 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Features include a wireless charger, cruise control, a heads-up display (in the ZXi+), automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, and a 360-degree HD camera. Rear AC vents and the largest cabin space in the segment make it even more comfortable.

Safety

The Dzire has also excelled in safety. It received a 5-star rating in both Global NCAP and India NCAP tests. All variants come standard with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill-hold assist, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and three-point seatbelt reminders, making it one of the safest cars in the segment.

Engine and Mileage

The Maruti Dzire is powered by a new Z-series 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 82 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque. This engine is smooth and refined for city driving. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual (MT) and AMT (auto). A CNG variant is also available with the same engine. According to ARAI claimed mileage figures, this engine also offers excellent fuel efficiency.

Prices and Variants

After the GST cut, the Maruti Dzire’s variants are now more affordable. The Tour S MT is available for ₹6.24 lakh, while the LXI MT is priced at ₹6.26 lakh. The VXI MT and ZXI MT are available for ₹7.17 lakh and ₹8.18 lakh, respectively, and the ZXI+ MT is available for ₹8.86 lakh. The automatic variants, the VXI AMT, are available for ₹7.62 lakh and the ZXI+ AMT for ₹9.32 lakh. The CNG variants, the Tour S CNG, are available for ₹7.11 lakh, the VXI CNG for ₹8.04 lakh, and the ZXI CNG for ₹9.05 lakh.
