DA, Bonus Hike: Following the decision to first give a bonus to central government employees and now to give them a 3 percent increased dearness allowance (DA), the state government is also preparing to give its employees a bonus and an increased dearness allowance (DA). The announcement of the bonus and the increased dearness allowance (DA) is expected before Diwali. The dearness relief (DR) rate for pensioners will also increase.

It is worth noting that the number of non-gazetted, work-charge, and daily-wage employees receiving bonuses in the state is approximately 14.82 lakh. The government will award bonuses to all of them before Diwali. The maximum bonus amount is estimated to be approximately seven thousand rupees. The bonus will cost the government treasury approximately 1,022 crore rupees.

At the same time, the rate of dearness allowance of about 16 lakh state employees, teachers and non-teaching staff covered under the seventh pay scale, which is currently 55 percent, is to be increased by three percent to 58 percent. The government will soon give them the benefit of the increase in dearness allowance.

The increase in the rate of dearness allowance of state employees of the fifth and sixth pay scale will be announced thereafter as every year. About 12 lakh pensioners will get the benefit of the increase in the rate of dearness relief. State employees and pensioners will get the benefit of DA and DR increase from July.
