New Delhi: The Bihar Assembly elections could be announced any day. The Election Commission can announce the election dates at any time, prompting all parties to exert their full strength. The Bihar government has opened its coffers for the youth, a move widely discussed. The Bihar government has announced the expansion of the Chief Minister’s Self-Help Allowance Scheme for financial assistance.

This scheme will now benefit graduates. Initially, this scheme was created for unemployed youth with 12 years of experience. Under this scheme, youth will receive ₹1,000 per month. Most importantly, this amount will be provided for two years, or 24 months, which will serve as a booster dose.

The scheme was launched 9 years ago.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar extended the scheme to 2025 and 2026 under the Saat Nishchay-2 scheme. According to reports, the scheme was launched on October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.

Most importantly, this scheme also includes unemployed graduates. Youth joining the scheme will also receive free skill development training from the Bihar Labour Resources Department. This will prepare them for employment or self-employment.

Women’s Blessings

The Bihar government has also launched the Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Scheme, under which eligible individuals are provided with an amount of Rs. 10,000. This scheme aims to empower women to become self-reliant. The government will release the next instalment on October 6th.
