Significant Price Drop

Following the changes in GST rates, Yamaha has announced a price reduction on both its premium bikes. Previously, bikes with engines under 350cc were subject to a 28% GST, but this has now been reduced to 18%. Consequently, the new price of the Yamaha R3 is now ₹3.39 lakh (ex-showroom), up from ₹3.60 lakh.

The Yamaha MT-03 is now priced at ₹3.29 lakh (ex-showroom), down from ₹3.50 lakh previously. This means both bikes have seen a significant price cut of approximately ₹30,000. This change is effective from October 2025.

Engine and Performance

Regarding the engine and performance, despite the price reduction, Yamaha has not changed its performance standards. Both bikes are powered by the same 321cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 41.4 bhp and 29.5 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch, ensuring smooth and controlled gear shifting.

Braking and Safety Features

Coming to braking and safety features, both bikes feature dual disc brakes—298mm at the front and 220mm at the rear. A dual-channel ABS system ensures excellent control and safety even at high speeds. The 17-inch tires and robust suspension setup not only keep these bikes stable at high speeds but also provide excellent grip when cornering. Yamaha has designed these bikes to offer a perfect balance between performance and safety.
