Bihar Assembly Election 2025: Preparations for the Bihar Assembly elections have begun in full swing. The Election Commission has also published the final SIR voter list. There is talk that the Election Commission will announce the election schedule in Bihar on October 6th or 7th. The Election Commission has begun meetings with district-level election officials and senior police officers via video conferencing. A conference of observers will be held in Delhi on October 3rd to monitor general, security, and election expenditure in Bihar.

Election Commission to undertake two-day visits.

The Election Commission is planning two two-day visits to Bihar. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will be accompanied by Associate Commissioners Dr SS Sandhu and Vineet Joshi, along with a team of top officials from the Commission. The Election Commission is scheduled to meet and discuss issues with representatives of political parties, administrative officials, and civil society organisations.

Just before this meeting, the observers deployed for the Bihar elections are scheduled to meet on October 3rd at the Commission’s Institute in Dwarka, New Delhi. Furthermore, if someone’s name is removed from the voter list, they can apply to have their name included in the voter list until the last day of nominations. Their name will be included in the additional voter list.

How many phases of elections are possible?

For information, it’s expected that the dates for the Bihar Assembly elections will be announced in the first week of October. Sources suggest that elections in Bihar may be held in three phases. The first phase is likely to be held on November 10th.

The results are expected to be declared on November 22nd, 2025. This election will prove to be crucial for the NDA and the Grand Alliance. A significant tussle is already underway between both alliances.
