New Delhi: The Congress party and other opposition parties are currently on the offensive against the government over alleged vote rigging. The Congress is preparing to intensify its protest movement by alleging manipulation of the electoral process. A large rally will be held today, December 14, at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
Many senior Congress leaders will participate in this rally. Slogans will be raised against the alleged vote theft in the elections. The government and the Election Commission will also be criticised. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge are also expected to attend the rally.
Congress to corner the government.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party president Rahul Gandhi are expected to reach Ramlila Maidan and address the rally. Besides them, several senior leaders, including Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K.C. Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, and Sachin Pilot, are also likely to be present on the stage. Former party president Sonia Gandhi is also expected to attend the rally.
Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal informed that the party has collected approximately 55 lakh signatures across the country against vote rigging. He said that Rahul Gandhi has shown with evidence how vote theft is taking place. He challenged the Home Minister to an open debate on this issue, but there has been no response from the government.
