Today, Aadhaar card is very important for all work. You need it for banks, schools, colleges, government schemes, and train tickets. It is very important that your mobile number linked to Aadhaar is correct. OTP comes to this number. If your old number does not work or you do not use it, you must change it now. Why Mobile Number is Important

If you use Aadhaar for any work, like bank account, PAN card, gas subsidy, or government schemes, an OTP is sent to your mobile number. If your number does not work, you cannot do the verification. So, your mobile number must be active and linked to Aadhaar.

How to Update Mobile Number

Offline Way:

  • Go to the nearest Aadhaar center.
  • Fill the form and write your new mobile number.
  • Submit the form.
  • Your fingerprint or iris will be scanned.
  • You get a receipt with a URN number.
  • Check the update status online using the URN.

Online Way:

  1. Visit UIDAI website: ask.uidai.gov.in
  2. Go to “My Aadhaar” → “Update Aadhaar” → “Verify Email/Mobile.”
  3. Enter Aadhaar number, new mobile number, and captcha.
  4. Click “Send OTP” and enter OTP.
  5. Click “Submit.” Your new number is now linked.

Note:

  • No need to print a new Aadhaar card.
  • Call 1947 to check update status.
  • For other updates like name or address, mobile must be active.
  • Always keep your Aadhaar mobile number correct. OTP is needed for banks, schemes, and online work. Update old or disabled numbers immediately.
