To help farmers, the central and state governments run many schemes. Now, the Maharashtra government is going to take an important step for farmers. This step is related to soil testing.

The government will increase soil testing centers at the local level. With this, farmers can get their soil tested in less time. For this, the government is starting soil testing through the post office. Farmers can send their soil samples to the testing center with the help of the nearest post office. After this, the soil test report will come to their home.

If the soil testing center is far from your home, you can send the soil sample easily through the post office without any cost. Farmers will get the soil test report on their mobile or through a call.

Soil test report at home

State Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde said at the Phoenix Foundation College of Agriculture that the government has decided to start soil testing through post offices. Farmers can now send soil samples to the testing center of their tehsil through the local post office. The soil report will come on their mobile within seven days.

This report will give full details about the soil — what is missing in it, what type of fertilizer should be used, and which crop can grow better in that soil.

Work at tehsil level

All soil testing work will be done at the tehsil level. The government will upgrade old centers with new technology. With this, farmers will get soil test reports at home quickly and without any problem.
