Nepal Protest: The youth of Gen-Z, who came out in protest against the social media ban, wrote a revolution that will always be remembered in the history of Nepal. It was not realised when the youth’s protest turned into violence. The situation became so uncontrollable that Parliament, the Supreme Court, government buildings and even prisons were set on fire. So far, 23 people have died in the violence.
The army has taken over the responsibility of government security in Nepal, where curfew has been imposed in many cities. Now there is a discussion going on to appoint an interim government in the country. Who will be the next PM of Nepal can be decided today. Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah has given his support to the interim government. Along with this, he has also appealed to maintain peace in Nepal.
Balen Shah’s support for the interim government
Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah has said a big thing while addressing the Nepalese people. He wrote on social media that the country has accepted the entry into an unprecedented political phase. Balen expressed support for the formation of a caretaker administration to oversee new elections.
Balen has also supported the appointment of Sushila Karki as the head of the interim government. Along with this, he has also warned political aspirants not to rush into leadership roles. Balen said that their energy and commitment are necessary for long-term change.
Historic revolution in the history of Nepal
Balen Shah made a direct appeal to the President of Nepal to immediately dissolve the Parliament and formally establish an interim government. Along with this, he has also emphasised the need to protect the ‘historic revolution’ led by Generation Z. This post has come amid growing public dialogue in Nepal about political reform and youth-led movements, as the demand for systemic change is continuously intensifying.
The situation is still worse.
Violence in Nepal still does not seem to stop. The youth of Generation Z do not agree with many names that came up for the post of PM. Nepal has suffered a lot in this revolution. According to a report, several thousand prisoners have escaped from jails. The files of pending cases in the courts have also been burnt to ashes.
