The Madhya Pradesh government has started a new plan to help farmers earn more and support animal farming. Under this plan, farmers can get a loan and grant up to ₹42 lakh to start a dairy farm. Farmers are also encouraged to raise goats and chickens together. This way, they can earn more money. With this plan, farmers can start a dairy business easily and become financially strong. Let’s see all the details.
Loan up to ₹42 lakh for dairy farmers
The Madhya Pradesh government is working to help farmers earn more and make animal farming profitable. The government has started the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana for dairy farming. Under this scheme, farmers can get a loan of up to ₹42 lakh and a subsidy of 25 to 33 percent.
The scheme is run by the Veterinary Services Department. To apply, a farmer must have at least 3.5 acres of land. Farmers can apply online or contact the department office. District Deputy Director Dr. N.K. Shukla said the target this year is to help 22 farmers.
Good profit at low cost
The government also encourages the Integrated Farming System (IFS). In this system, goats and chickens are kept together. Eggs and desi chicken can be produced at low cost. According to scientists from the Central Institute for Research on Goats (CIRG), Mathura, leftover goat fodder is eaten by chickens, which reduces feed cost.
Organic fodder is grown for goats, so their milk is fully organic. The meat from these animals is healthy and can be exported. Special sheds with iron mesh are made for goats and chickens to live in separate parts. Goats graze in the morning, and chickens use the shed, making the best use of space.
This plan helps farmers earn more money and modernizes farming in Madhya Pradesh. It strengthens animal farming and increases farmer income.
