Mahindra XUV700:Mahindra is working on a major update for its biggest hit SUV, the XUV700. Launched in 2021, the car emerged as a segment leader soon after. Now, the 2026 facelift will spruce up its attraction with a fresh look, upgraded premium cabin, and contemporary features.
Launch Timeline
The new Mahindra XUV700 is likely to be launched in the first half of 2026. In the premium 7-seater SUV segment, it will still compete with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. Through its facelift, Mahindra wishes to solidify its existence in this extremely competitive segment.
XEV 9e Inspired Design
The facelift styling of the XUV700 will take cues from Mahindra’s new-age electric SUV, the XEV 9e. Substantial updates will be done at the front, such as a new grille with more angular vertical slats, new twin-pod LED headlamps, new LED DRLs, and a new bumper design. These changes will make the SUV look more aggressive on the road. On the side and rear, however, few design elements are expected to undergo change.
Triple Screen Configuration
Inside the cabin, the biggest highlight will be the introduction of a triple screen setup, similar to what has been seen in the XEV 9e. This advanced layout will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Mahindra is also expected to update the dashboard design and may include a premium Harman Kardon sound system. Existing features such as ADAS, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated seats are likely to continue.
Engine Options
No mechanical updates can be anticipated in the facelift variant. The SUV will still have the 2.0-litre turbo mStallion petrol engine and the 2.0-litre mHawk diesel engine. The petrol engine comes with 200PS power and 380Nm torque, while the diesel engine comes with 155PS and 360Nm torque. Both manual and automatic transmission variants will be offered. This keeps the XUV700 facelift in its high-performance forte.
Price Expectations
With new features and design updates, a minor price hike is anticipated for the facelifted XUV700. The SUV is currently priced between ₹14.49 lakh and ₹25.14 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift could have a higher starting price but will remain a premium but competitive option in the class.
