UP ‘No Helmet, No Petrol’ Rule:- If you are a resident of UP, then big news is on the way for you. As per the instructions of UP CM Yogi Adityanath, a special road safety campaign – ‘No helmet, no petrol’- will be launched from September 1 next month and will continue until September 30. The UP government has become stricter about the increasing number of accidents. The ‘No Helmet, No Fuel’ campaign is being launched to encourage people to wear a helmet when riding a bike or scooter. Especially, the pillion riders often do not wear helmets. Bike riders are becoming the most victims of road accidents. Every other day we get to hear the news of road accidents.
This rule will be applicable in 75 districts of UP. During this period, police, revenue/district administration and transport department officials will take up the responsibility of enforcement. The government has appealed to the general public to cooperate in this campaign. Section 129 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, makes it mandatory for the two-wheeler driver and the pillion rider to wear a helmet. If someone does not follow these rules, then there is a provision to punish them based on Section 194D.
No helmet, no petrol:-
The UP government is launching this campaign to promote safety awareness among its citizens. Many people drive without wearing helmets. Transport Commissioner Brijesh Narayan Singh said, “This campaign is not a punishment but a pledge of safety. This campaign will run from September 1 to 30. All citizens, petrol pump operators and oil companies are asked to cooperate fully in this. Make ‘helmet first, fuel later’ a rule, because wearing a helmet is the simplest insurance of life. “The government is trying to make people aware through this campaign to wear helmets while travelling on two-wheelers.
