rajasthan monsoon alert: After a week-long dry spell, Rajasthan has witnessed a fresh wave of rainfall, bringing relief from the scorching heat. A new weather system has triggered heavy showers in several districts, including Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, and Bharatpur. The Jaipur Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 24 districts, predicting light to heavy rainfall over the next four days.
Heavy Rains Disrupt Daily Life
Udaipur and Chittorgarh experienced intense downpours, turning streets into streams and causing waterlogging in low-lying areas. While the rains provided respite from the heat, they also led to inconvenience for residents. The Jaipur weather center has warned of thunderstorms and lightning in Jaipur, Alwar, Nagaur, Barmer, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Ajmer, Tonk, Bhilwara, Bundi, Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, Churu, Rajsamand, Jalore, Pali, and Jodhpur.
Monsoon Revival Due to Shifting Weather Patterns
According to meteorologists, the revival of monsoon activity is linked to easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal and the shifting of the monsoon trough. Currently, the trough line has moved northward, passing through Bikaner, Kota, Damoh, and Bilaspur. This shift is expected to enhance rainfall across most parts of Rajasthan in the coming days.
Fact Check:
Rainfall Data: Confirmed by the Jaipur Meteorological Department.
Yellow Alert: Active in 24 districts as per official reports.
Monsoon Trough Movement: Verified through weather tracking systems.
Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take precautions against waterlogging and lightning strikes. The rains are expected to continue, offering much-needed relief to the arid state.
