What did Mamata Banerjee say about the violence?

Amidst the communal violence in Murshidabad, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that there have been some irregularities regarding the Waqf. She said that if it were involved in the violence, the houses of its leaders would not have been attacked. The allegations of the opposition are baseless. He said that the areas of Murshidabad where violence took place fall in the seat won by Congress.

This comes under the Malda Lok Sabha constituency. Congress has won this seat. Congress should have controlled this violent situation. On Wednesday, he surprised everyone by saying this in a gathering of Imams and Muezzins at Netaji Indoor Stadium.

The CM further said that this is a pre-planned violence. People were provoked a lot, so that unrest could be created. He said that if Trinamool had done all this, the houses of MPS MLAS would not have been attacked.
