If your mobile number is linked to an electricity account that is not yours, you can easily remove it online. This process is called “unlinking your mobile number.” Through this facility, you can view the accounts linked to your mobile number and remove your number from them.

How do you remove a mobile number?
UPPCL has provided simple steps to remove your mobile number.
First, visit the official UPPCL website and navigate to the “mobile number unlinking” section.
Enter your mobile number—specifically the one that is receiving the electricity bill notifications—into the designated box.
After entering the mobile number, you will receive an OTP .

Enter this OTP on the website to verify it.
Once the OTP verification is complete, a list of all electricity accounts linked to your mobile number will appear on the screen.
Identify the account that does not belong to you and click the “unlink” option next to it.

Follow the remaining prompts to complete the process of removing your mobile number from that incorrect account. You will no longer receive messages for another person’s electricity bill. Using UPPCL’s online facility—which saves you from having to make trips to the electricity department—you can submit a request to remove your mobile number from an incorrect electricity account. Once you do this, you will no longer receive any messages related to that account.
