The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest bulletin, has issued an alert regarding heavy rain in the states of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. IMD has issued a warning today regarding a severe heat wave in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal from April 19 to 21, 2024. So let us tell you how the weather will be in your city:

 weather in Delhi

There is a possibility of a generally cloudy sky in the capital, Delhi, today, i.e., on April 18. Along with this, light rain or drizzle can also be seen, along with strong winds. However, the sun has been shining brightly in Delhi since morning. It is believed that a change in the weather will be seen this evening.

IMD’s Forecast 

A new Western disturbance started as a cyclonic circulation over Iran at mid- and upper tropospheric levels. Due to this disturbance, rain and snowfall, along with thunder, lightning, and strong winds, may be seen in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh from April 18 to April 21.

Apart from this, similar weather can be seen in western Uttar Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan on April 19 and from April 18 to 19, 2024. There is a possibility of hailstorms at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh on April 18 and 19 and Uttarakhand on April 19, 2024. According to IMD, there will be heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Gilgit.

Heatwave alert

According to the weather department, meanwhile, there is a possibility of hot weather in places including East and West Midnapur, Purulia, Jhargram, and Bankura from Friday to Monday. This means that the maximum day temperature will reach 41–42 degrees Celsius by Monday in most areas of Kolkata.
