2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will go on sale in India on May 9, 2024. Although its official bookings have not started yet, select Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships have started accepting pre-orders for a token amount of Rs. 11,000. This hatchback will have much better styling, more features and a new engine, which will come with more fuel efficiency.
Engine
Compared to the Japan-spec version, the new 2024 Maruti Swift in India will have slight cosmetic changes. The biggest change is that it will be offered with a 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated Z-series petrol engine (codename: Z12), replacing the old K-series, 4-cylinder engine. The new engine is lightweight and meets the stringent BS6 emission norms and CAFÉ (Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency) Stage 2 norms. The new Z-series engine may also come with mild hybrid technology which will increase its fuel efficiency. Maruti Suzuki will also use the same engine for the new generation Dezire compact sedan, which is scheduled to be launched in the festive season of 2024.
Design and dimensions
The new 2024 Maruti Swift will be designed on the heavily updated Heartect platform and will be longer than the model. Its total length, width and height will be 3860 mm, 1695 mm and 1500 mm respectively. Its width and height will be reduced by 40 mm and 30 mm respectively. Its interior changes will be inspired by the front compact crossover and Baleno hatchback, which will get a new dual-tone black/beige theme.
Features and price
The new Swift will get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It will also have features like automatic AC, flat bottom steering wheel, analog dial with MID, push button start stop, height adjustable seat and rear heater duct and reverse parking camera. The new 2024 Maruti Swift will be a little costlier with all the upgrades. The ex-showroom price of its current model ranges between Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.03 lakh.
