However, it is now believed that the company may launch a 7 seater SUV with some other name instead of Endeavour. Its name could be Ford Everest which is sold under the same name in the international market. Initially the company can bring it to India through import.
Ford Motor can launch Endeavor in India with the name Everest. According to media reports, after the initial import, its production may also start at the Ford plant in Chennai by 2025. There is an interesting story behind the name of Ford Everest. After the arrival of Ford’s new SUV, it may be difficult for Toyota Fortuner.

Ford Endeavor is known as Ford Everest in the global market. When the company launched this SUV in India in 2003, it did not get the trademark for the name Everest. Under compulsion, the company had to sell the SUV in India under the name of Ford Endeavor instead of Ford Everest. The company had acquired the Endeavor trademark.
According to reports, recently Ford has acquired the trademark of ‘Everest’. At present, the company will import Everest SUV in India in small numbers. Using the name Everest instead of Endeavor will reduce the branding costs of the company. This will reduce the expenditure on advertising.
Ford has not yet said when production will start at the Chennai plant. Local production of Everest in India may also be delayed till 2026. However, the company may try to meet the demand through imports.
Expected Features of Ford Everest
Recently a glimpse of Ford Everest has been seen. The new SUV can enter with a boxy front and a large grille. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of getting new matrix style LED headlights. The shape of Everest will look more square compared to Endeavour.
Talking about the Fort Everest Global model, it gets a 12-inch vertical, or 10.1-inch infotainment system with Ford SYNC. Ford’s new SUV is expected to have advanced features like ADAS, 9 airbags and other safety features.

At present, Ford has not revealed which variant of the Everest SUV will be launched in India. The company sells SUVs with multiple diesel engine options. The Everest is powered by 2.0 liter single turbo, 2.0 liter twin turbo and 3.0 liter V6 diesel engines.
For transmission, Ford Everest can be equipped with 6 speed manual or 10 speed automatic gearbox. According to the engine option, Ford Everest can be purchased with 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive option. In India, it will compete with luxurious 7 seater SUVs like Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner.
