After enduring years of legal proceedings, residents of Usman Colony, Khawaja Bagh, finally received justice as the DCDRC mandated National Insurance Company Limited to compensate them for their losses. The complaint stemmed from damages incurred during the devastating earthquake of October 8, 2005, which left their homes uninhabitable.

The judgment requires the insurance company to disburse Rs. 6 lakhs to the complainants, along with an additional 10% interest from the date of filing the complaint, within a stipulated period of four weeks.
Furthermore, recognizing the mental and physical harassment endured by the victims throughout the litigation process, the commission directed an additional payment of Rs. 50 thousand towards them.
