The Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory detailing which roads will be subject to restrictions and diversions on October 2nd. This diversion is expected to last approximately six hours.
The Delhi Police advisory states that traffic rules have been changed from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM on October 2, 2026. Diversions are being implemented as part of this. Special arrangements have been made to ensure smooth traffic flow on Vijay Ghat, Ring Road, and adjoining roads.

On October 2, traffic may be diverted or controlled at 12 major intersections and points in Delhi during the morning hours. This includes several major routes.
ITO Chowk, Delhi Gate, Guru Nanak Chowk, Shantivan Chowk, Rajghat DTC Depot, IP Flyover, Salim Garh Y-Point, Salim Garh By-Pass Cut, Raja Ram Kohli Marg near loop towards ISBT Kashmere Gate, Under Salim Garh Flyover, T-Point Subhash Marg, and Golden Mosque Cut on Nishad Raj Marg.
Which Major Routes Will Be Affected?
Heavy traffic or congestion is likely on several key roads between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m., even though schools, colleges, and government offices will remain closed for Gandhi Jayanti. If you’re heading out, keep in mind the major roads that could experience delays.
Ring Road from Rajghat to Salimgarh Y-Point/ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Nishad Raj Marg and Raja Ram Kohli Marg, BSZ Marg from ITO Chowk to Delhi Gate, from Shantivan Chowk to IP Flyover, Asaf Ali Road from Delhi Gate towards N.S. Marg, from Guru Nanak Chowk to Ranjit Singh Flyover, and from Rajghat DTC Depot to Ring Road Bypass.
