Tata Aeris vs Maruti Dzire: Tata Motors has launched the new Tata Aeris to challenge the Maruti Suzuki Dzire in the compact sedan segment. Both cars offer petrol and CNG powertrain options, along with a choice between manual and AMT gearboxes. However, there are several differences between the two.
The Aeris has a lower starting price, and its petrol and CNG engines deliver slightly more power. In addition to the lower starting price, the Tata Aeris offers more power, a larger touchscreen, and a twin-cylinder CNG setup. Starting with the price, the Aeris has an initial ex-showroom price of ₹5.29 lakh, whereas the Maruti Suzuki Dzire starts at ₹6.31 lakh. This means the Aeris is cheaper by approximately ₹1 lakh. However, the top-end variant of the Dzire is priced at ₹9.41 lakh, while the top variant of the Aeris goes up to ₹9.74 lakh.

Regarding the engines, both sedans are equipped with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine. However, the Aeris edges ahead in terms of power output. The Tata Aeris’s petrol engine generates 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque, whereas the Dzire’s engine produces 82 PS and 112 Nm. In CNG mode, the Aeris delivers an output of 76 PS and 97 Nm, while the Dzire CNG produces 70 PS and 102 Nm.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the Dzire Petrol AMT offers up to 26.13 kmpl, while the company claims up to 36.47 km/kg for the CNG AMT variant. Although a CNG-AMT combination is available for the Tata Aeris, its CNG efficiency figures have not yet been confirmed.
Tata Aeris vs Maruti Dzire Features
Both cars are well-equipped, but the Tata Aeris features a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, whereas the Dzire comes with a 9-inch unit. Both offer wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The Aeris includes features such as ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, an integrated dashcam, and rain-sensing wipers. On the other hand, the Dzire offers an electric sunroof, a feature not available in the Aeris. Both cars come with cruise control, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags.
Tata Aeris vs Maruti Dzire Boot Space
The petrol version of the Tata Aeris offers 419 litres of boot space, compared to the 382 litres provided in the Maruti Dzire. This means the Aeris has 37 litres more space.
